Fibers

When we talk about macronutrients, we are referring to PROTEINS, CARBOHYDRATES (FIBERS) and FATS.

The main function of carbohydrates is to provide energy to the body, and include fibers, sugars and starches.

Fibers fulfil an essential role in in the digestion of nutrients and mainly, the elimination of toxins. Fiber intake helps our digestive system to function regularly, which prevents problems like constipation and even some diseases. Fiber is very important for our health and can be a valuable aid in weight control.

NU3 contains 2 types of fiber, soluble and insoluble, depending on whether or not it is soluble in water. The Institute of Medicine recommends 14 grams of fiber for every 1000 calories.

Soluble fiber is dietary fiber that dissolves in liquid, in gel form. Some of the benefits include: decreased fat absorption, greater satiety, regulation of blood glucose levels, decreased LDL cholesterol, and reduced risk of heart disease.

Insoluble fiber, that does not dissolve in water, increases the production of stool, that which contributes to prevention of disorders such as constipation, bowel irregularity, and diseases or derivatives thereof such as hemorrhoids, diverticulosis and diverticulitis.

Fibers and Toxins.

Our body absorbs or eliminates everything that we consume: it's that simple. Our body takes the necessary nutrients from food and drink, and what does not serve it is eliminated.
